Firstly I refuse to give this book 1 star even though I didn't finish it because only an author who writes something so raw and vile can make me physically sick. Therefore if I had a stronger stomach I most certainly would have finished reading it.The writing and characters were well written, but I wouldn't recommend this book unless you can handle what this book contains.......I couldn't.

But had to stop to write a review so others can enjoy this amazing yet horrific story of abuse, neglect & addiction told in the voice of a small child as she survives each day.
Another amazing book! Well done Jessica!!
I recommend this book to everyone who works with children. I could not put it down. Dark and difficult to read as it was, I was compelled to read it all. Addiction, and abuse destroys families, and children. This story, told by a small child, living through the horrors, should make everyone pay attention to the signs. So well written, I felt like I was right there with Scarlette and her sisters. Bravo Jessica Davis! Can't wait for your next book!
Although this story was hard to read, it was well written and made me aware of what kids can go through when we think everything is fine. I hope there is a next book in this series.
